Are you driven by taking overall responsibility for advanced technical systems and leading others in a complex and developing environment? We are now looking for a Design Authority for Saab Dynamics.

Your Role

As a Design Authority, you will have a central and overarching role where you are responsible for the overall technical perspective within a product family. You work in a leading function and collaborate closely with various parts of the organization – from early studies and development projects to the management and further development of existing systems.

The role involves ensuring that our products remain robust over time, both from a technical and system perspective. You lead and coordinate a broad technical organization and act as a key link between different disciplines such as mechanics, electronics, and software.

Examples of responsibilities include:

• Taking overall technical responsibility within a product family
• Ensuring system functionality, requirements, and technical solutions over time
• Leading and coordinating a cross-functional technical organization
• Working with the entire product lifecycle – from early studies to aftermarket
• Serving as a technical support to projects, program management, and other stakeholders
• Contributing to strategic technical decisions and long-term development

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a strong technical interest who thrives in a leading role where you can combine technology, structure, and collaboration. In this role, you will have clear leadership responsibilities, expected to drive work forward, create direction and engagement, and ensure that the right technical decisions are made over time. We prefer a confident leader who can combine a strategic perspective with operational engagement.

You have a background in development and a good understanding of complex systems. To succeed in this role, you need to have a holistic perspective, be able to make decisions, and create engagement within a broad organization.

We believe you have:

• A Master of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Several years of experience in technology development, preferably within mechanics-intensive products
• Experience working with complex systems including software and electronics
• Experience in a leading or coordinating role
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with various stakeholders
• A structured working approach and strong drive

Experience with our products or similar technical systems is considered an asset.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the security clearance regulations in effect at the time. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
